The Power of Small Acts of Kindness
Today, I want you to think about how many times -- during the day, during the week, during the month -- that we have the opportunity to be great through small acts of kindness.
I think we often underestimate the power of a kind touch, smile, honest compliment, or providing just a caring, listening ear to someone. The power of these small gestures -- these small acts of kindness -- that can truly turn someone's life around.
Good morning, everyone and welcome to the Bed Head Chronicles.
We have an opportunity to be great in this way every single day. What I hope for you is that in every moment you can just pause for a split second to think, 'How can I make this a moment where I can truly touch the life of this person in front of me?'
Don't rush through your day missing out on these opportunities because when we give to another, nothing feels so satisfying, so fulfilling, so deeply wonderful. Because we know what it feels like to be listened to when we need someone to hear us. To be smiled at when may feel sad. To be given a compliment on a day when we don't feel so great about ourselves. Or to be given a hug in a troubled time.
We all know how good that feels and we all have the opportunity to be great in these small acts of kindness every single day.
I was reading something this morning when I woke up, and this is what made me think about how important this is. "How far you go in your life depends on you're being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant with the weak and strong. Because someday in your life, you will have been all of these."
And that is so true. We have all been young. We will all be old at some point. We will all be weak in times. We will all be strong in times.
During all those times, we hope to be loved, supported and acknowledged by others. But most importantly by our selves.
So, today, go through the day. Be free with offering an act of kindness and feel how that fills your heart and soul with so much beauty.
Thank you everyone, and have an amazing day.
