Fearlessly Authentic in Tough Moments

I've been home for a few days. I was in the hospital for about a week and have been able to be home. During my treatments from home, we drive to the hospital a couple of days a week. It's been amazing being home. Obviously, with a lot of time on my hands, I've been doing a lot of thinking. You all know that my biggest thing is fearless authenticity. Being you. Just like I am right now -- bed head, not making myself made up or anything. I am just me.
Welcome everyone, and welcome to the bed head chronicles.

When I think about fearless authenticity, it's about being true to you. Staying true to what you believe in. Staying true to what matters. Being able to be vulnerable to the people around you, which leads to deeper relationships and richer experiences.

But when I was thinking about fearless authenticity with what I'm going through now, I wondered how authentic have I been with myself in regards to how I'm feeling. Being authentic is being true to you. Being honest with you. Expressing your truth to yourself always.

I think, sometimes, when you're battling illness or disease, you can tell yourself 'I'm strong. I got this. I have everything I need inside me. I'm going to get through this." That's so incredibly important. That is what I'm saying to myself every single day. But I also think that we need to be able to sit peacefully in those moments where we feel really afraid. In those moments where it gets really scary. In those moments where you can't find the words to inspire, move or give yourself the strength you need at that moment.

We need to love ourselves in every moment. That could be in our strongest, bravest and most courageous moments. But we must also really love and appreciate ourselves in those moments where we need to ask for help. Or when we don't know what to do or feel hopeless and terrified. Love yourself in those moments, too. Accept the fact that those moments will come.

Life is life. They are always changing. There are going to be really tough times and hard moments, along with blissful moments as well. It's a matter of fearless authenticity. It's a matter of loving yourself no matter what. Being yourself no matter what. Not putting on a brave face if you're not feeling brave.

Yes, it's important to set yourself up for success and have a belief fully in that positive, optimistic attitude. But I also want to know that I can sit with myself in those tough moments, too. And be brave enough to know it's okay to feel weak. It's okay to feel afraid.

In those moments, whatever resonates with you, I pray for strength, guidance, love, and support. I tap into all that I receive from my family and yourselves -- all that love, support and encouraging words.

So, fearless authenticity -- be all that you are in every moment. Express who you are in every single moment without holding back. And that means with yourself, too.

I hope this all makes sense to everybody out there. Have an amazing day. Appreciate every single moment of this beautiful gift of life. And appreciate every single aspect of who you are as a beautiful, magical human that is you. Thank you.
