Comparison is the Thief of Joy

When you compare yourself to your past self or the person you dream of being, or the people around you, or your co-workers or your competitors (if you're an athlete), it truly does strip you of all your joy.
Welcome to the Bed Head Chronicles.

Today, I want to start with this: comparison is the thief of joy.

That means not just comparing yourself to other people and what other people have achieved or what they have -- even more importantly, comparing yourself to what you used to be -- if you're an athlete, how fast you used to be, how strong you used to be or how you used to look.

Or it could mean comparing yourself to the future self of- what you dream of being.  I'm going to be so much stronger.  I'm going to be so much smarter.  I'm going to be so much more successful.

When you compare yourself to your past self or the person you dream of being, or the people around you, or your co-workers or your competitors (if you're an athlete), it truly does strip you of all your joy.

And it deflates you.  It takes your energy away.

Empower yourself.

Focus on you.  Focus on being the best you that you can be.  Every single day.  Focus on being better than you were the day before.

If you keep your focus there, you will continually keep progressing.  You will continually be absolutely filled with the joy of going after your dreams, and being the best you can be, and knowing you're making progress on that path.

Do not compare yourself to others.  Be you.

Be the best you you can be every single day, and you will be on the road to achieving everything you dream of.

Have an amazing day.
